France, one step to the fate of America and the United Kingdom
Rapporteur-Farbod Dehghani: After brexit, the French presidential election is not important only for this country but for all of Europe. Two main election Candidates, Francois Fillon and Marine Le Pen who have diametrically opposed opinions and selecting each one, will put a completely different path ahead of France.
Fillon, who has been pioneer in recent polls, with a high difference, faced with a severe reduction rate because of personal corruption and abuse of power, and has fallen to third place.
The 62-year-old candidate supporter of free-market policies is under heavy pressure during the past two weeks from the Medias because they say, "Penelope" his wife paid hundreds of thousands of euros as an assistant to the parliamentary.
He admitted his Welsh-born wife, Penelope, was paid 830,000 euros over 15 years as his assistant and that he had awarded consultancy work to two of his children.
However, he said this was entirely legal, above board and transparent.
Speaking at the weekend, the French conservative presidential candidate said he would fight to the end to defend his position as his party’s nominee.(1)
French far-right leader Marine Le Pen said Crimea “has always been Russian” in a series of astonishing claims that defy the evidence that Moscow invaded Ukraine.
Ms Le Pen also called for sanctions against the Kremlin to be removed, calling them “completely stupid” and the cause of “major problems for the EU.”(2)
