Germany finaly increases assylums wage
According to rapporteur report from spiegel, link , the federal government wants exemptions for refugees at the minimum wage. Immigrants who have to qualify are affected.
Apparently there should be exceptions to the minimum wage for refugees. The "Süddeutsche Zeitung" reports this on the basis of a joint paper from the Federal Labor, Federal Finance and Federal Ministry of Education and Research. According to this, no minimum wage is to be applied to refugees and immigrants who qualify for the recognition of their foreign professional qualifications in Germany.
If a fugitive with an apprenticeship still needs to acquire practical knowledge in a company so that his foreign degree qualifies as equivalent, this should be regarded as a compulsory internship. This "does not fall under the minimum wage obligation, in which case a training remuneration can be paid," quotes the newspaper from the paper.
At the beginning of this year, the minimum wage was increased from € 8.50 to € 8.84 per hour.
