US President Donald Trump has celebrated his 100th day in office by claiming historic action on his agenda, while lashing out at critics and an "incompetent, dishonest" media for giving his tenure poor marks.

According to Rapporteur Report From, Press TV, Link, "My only allegiance is to you, our wonderful citizens," Trump said in his morning radio address on Saturday. Later appearing at an evening rally in Pennsylvania, he boasted about American power and patriotism, while underlining such priorities as manufacturing, better trade deals and yet-to-be defined tax reforms.

"In just 14 weeks, my administration has brought profound change to Washington," Trump stated in his remarks at the Pennsylvania rally.

"My administration has been delivering every single day for the great citizens of our country," he said.

Trump also waged an attack against the media, pointing out that he was not attending the evening’s White House Correspondents' Association dinner, breaking tradition with other US presidents. "I could not possibly be more thrilled than to be more than 100 miles away from Washington's swamp, spending my evening with all of you and with a much, much larger crowd and much better people, right?"

Trump then accused the news media of delivering "fake news" and said if their job was to tell the truth, then they deserved "a big, fat failing grade" with their current performance. "They are a disgrace," he said.

Though the White House created a website touting the administration's accomplishments during the first 100 days, Trump has played down the importance of the traditional marker, possibly out of realization that many of his campaign pledges have gone unfulfilled.

"It's a false standard, 100 days," Trump said while signing an executive order on Friday. "But I have to tell you, I don't think anybody has done what we've been able to do in 100 days, so we're very happy."

The US president signed an order instructing his commerce secretary to review the country’s trade deals for possible abuses.

The aim is to determine whether the US is being treated fairly by its trading partners and the 164-nation World Trade Organization.

According to reports, Trump has signed 32 executive orders since taking office -- the most of any US president in his first 100 days since World War II.
