Palestinian shot, hurt in alleged W. Bank knife attack
According to Rapporteur Report From, AA, Link, A Palestinian man was shot and seriously injured by Israeli forces on Tuesday following an alleged knife attack in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
"The man was shot multiple times in his stomach after allegedly trying to stab Israeli soldiers at the Huwara checkpoint in the West Bank city of Nablus," read a statement issued by the ministry.
The Israeli army, for its part, said the alleged attacker -- whose name has not been made public -- had been taken to central Israel’s Belinson Hospital, adding that no injuries had been sustained by the soldiers.
Since October of 2015, more than 270 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli police during -- or immediately after -- alleged attacks on Israelis or in clashes with Israeli security forces, according to Palestinian figures.
The Israeli authorities, meanwhile, say at least 48 Israelis have been killed in attacks by Palestinians over the same period.
